Track 7. Imagine – John Lennon

Lennon, John. “Imagine.” Capitol, 25 Oct. 1990.

“You may say that I'm a dreamer / But I'm not the only one / I hope someday you'll join us / And the world will be as one.” Gandhi’s principles have been influential to other great activists, including Martin Luther King, Jr. King said of Gandhi that "... I became deeply fascinated by his campaigns of nonviolent resistance. As I delved deeper into the philosophy of Gandhi, my skepticism concerning the power of love gradually diminished, and I came to see for the first time its potency in the area of social reform" (D’Souza). Gandhi’s practicalization of peaceful protest has influenced other great leaders, such as South Africa’s Nelson Mandala who fought for equality and eventually became President of South Africa, and Poland’s Lech Walesa who organized, fought for and won fair rights for Workers’ Unions (Arturk 126).

  1. I make up words too. Practicalization is a mouthful, though. Maybe praxis?

The end of this paragraph is a little repetitive from earlier parts of the profile. Was it the forecast?
